Job Overview:
We’re excited to bring on a SAP IT Controls Specialist to join our Internal Audit and SOX team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone with deep SAP controls experience who enjoys both structure and variety—because in this role, you’ll be working across IT SOX compliance and IT internal audit.
Core Responsibilities:
This is a dual-focus position. During SOX season, the focus shifts toward supporting annual IT testing across SAP systems like S/4HANA and SAP GRC. Outside of that, there’s plenty of opportunity to get involved in broader internal audit work—whether that’s reviewing IT risks, supporting team members with insights, or chipping in to advisory projects that help improve controls across the business.
There’s a technical side to the work—testing access, change, and operational controls within SAP, evaluating Linux and HANA environments, and working through IT application control testing. But it’s not just heads-down testing. There’s collaboration with external auditors, coordination with IT and business teams, and opportunities to shape remediation plans in a way that actually helps the business run better.
Within internal audit, this role plays a hands-on part in delivering key IT engagements. From planning to reporting, this includes digging into risks, analyzing data, and helping teams make sense of audit findings. We’re not just checking boxes—we’re contributing where it matters.
This position works closely with colleagues at all levels, so good social skills and a practical, solutions-focused demeanor go a long way. We value people who take ownership of their work, balance detail with bigger-picture thinking, and are naturally curious—especially about how technology like AI can make auditing better, smarter, and faster.
Essential Skills:
We're looking for someone who brings around seven or more years of IT audit and SOX experience, ideally with a proven track record in SAP IT controls testing. Experience working in or with a Big 4 or credible consulting firm is a definite plus. Familiarity with frameworks like COBIT, ISO 27001, and COSO will help, and professional certifications like CISA, CIA, or CISSP are always appreciated. A curiosity about cloud and hybrid SAP environments or experience with continuous controls' monitoring would be a bonus!
