The Arm Architecture & Technology Group shapes the long-term direction of Arm and its ecosystem. We are hiring a Director of Market Strategy to deliver strategies that guide research activities and product roadmaps.

Arm is the leading supplier of IP in the Semiconductor industry. We are expanding our Market Strategy team to focus on mid-term and long-term strategies.

Job Overview:As the Director of Market Strategy, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Arm. You will be identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing emerging technologies with the potential to create a material impact on the industry. Your strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong industry relationships will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring our long-term market strength. You turn strategic concepts into actionable initiatives that create impact across the group, encouraging innovative thinking and problem-solving. You are recognized as a leader within your group. You will have the opportunity to influence and deliver strategy outcomes for your group, making decisions that impact its success.

Responsibilities:

Technology Landscaping and Assessment:

  • Conduct comprehensive scanning of the technological landscape to identify the evolution of emerging trend trajectories and pioneering innovations that affect the entire semiconductor industry and its value chain. This includes Semiconductor IP, silicon design and development, hardware deployment at ODM/OEM, and the software and developer ecosystem.
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of promising technologies, including their technical feasibility, impact on hardware development, and alignment with industry standards and regulations.
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and identify potential partnerships to accelerate our technology roadmap.

Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Develop as part of a team, a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the long-term vision and business objectives of Arm.
  • Prioritize technology initiatives based on their potential impact on technology development, time-to-market, and customer value.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of technology pilots and proof-of-concept projects to validate the feasibility of new solutions. Demonstrate strong communication by delivering intricate and layered subjects concisely and engagingly to senior leadership.

Cross-functional team engagement

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and business development, to incorporate market and technological insights into product roadmaps and business strategies.
  • Build upon and drive thoroughness, foundational thinking, evidence-based hypothesis building, and experimentation, encouraging team members to think critically and question established norms.
  • Share expertise and offer mentorship and coaching to team members, supporting their professional development and career growth.

Industry Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Build strong partnerships with key industry players, universities, and research organizations to stay ahead of new developments and encourage joint initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and other events to share insights and build strategic partnerships.

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Extensive technical expertise in innovative technologies, encompassing artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, Industrial AI, edge computing, security technologies, and advanced semiconductor technologies.
  • Proven track record of identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, with a focus on comprehending market dynamics, and technology adoption trends, shaping product roadmaps, and guiding long-term engineering investments.
  • Ability to create a long-term technology vision and strategy and align them with the company’s overall strategic goals, identifying new opportunities for innovation.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Good communicator, able to work well in a multi-geography, cross-functional organization.
  • Build networks and develop positive relationships with industry partners across value chains.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :

  • Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in AI, machine learning, robotics, and IoT, and the ability to identify and capitalize on strategic opportunities in these fields.
  • Experience in leading or collaborating on large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects that involve the integration of hardware and software in AI/ML solutions.
  • Track record in managing technology commercialization efforts in hardware or AI products, including the transition from concept to scalable solutions.
  • Experience with venture capital or M&A activities in the tech sector, particularly in AI, robotics, and related industries, with a focus on identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.
  • Experience in creating go-to-market strategies for AI and robotics products, including working with sales, marketing, and customer-facing teams to align technology development with market needs.

Salary Range:

$235,620-$318,780 per year
