Senior People Regional Partner – San Jose, CA

Arm’s compute platforms are the most power-efficient in the world, continually pushing the boundaries of performance to enable the next generation of AI-capable, visually immersive, and increasingly autonomous experiences. From sensors to smartphones, automobiles, and data centers, Arm’s innovative technology has fuelled major technological revolutions—and will power the next.

At Arm, we’re building the future of computing. Together. For everyone.

Based at our North America headquarters in San Jose, this role will be a key position for the People Group: you will partner closely with key engineering and commercial functional leaders, as well as provide regional support to our executive committee members based in San Jose.

This role will focus on building important relationships to understand our people’s needs and find opportunities to enhance their experience of working at Arm, while helping to shape an engaging, connected office community that brings our culture and values to life.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Regional People Partnering North America, you will serve as a primary People Team interface for our colleagues in San Jose and Seattle. You will be a key point of contact to surface and address opportunities, issues, or concerns experienced by the teams. You will collaborate with your broader People Regional peers, the Group People Business Partners, and other colleagues across the People Team to ensure all operational activities—such as payroll, onboarding, and interpersonal situations—are efficiently handled.

You’ll also lead initiatives to strengthen and develop the team while providing valuable insights to drive improvements and align People strategies with business needs.

As the local face of the People Team in San Jose, you will build strong relationships with business leaders, managers, and teams across the function, acting as a trusted partner on all people matters. This role is well-suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, builds trust-based relationships with key partners, and brings a self-starting, solution-focused approach. You’ll be comfortable stepping in wherever needed, pulling the right people together to drive progress, and working across organisational boundaries to deliver what’s valuable—without being constrained by role definitions or silos.

While we operate in a flexible hybrid model, this role requires an in-office presence three days per week and as needed to support the business, to cultivate collaboration, strengthen culture, and maintain strong connections with the teams you support. You will also act as a catalyst for building local community, helping to create an inclusive, engaging, and connected office environment that brings our culture to life. Occasional travel to other key US sites (in particular Austin and Seattle) is also required to ensure consistent and high-quality People services across locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Regional Partnering:

  • Engage as an active member of the North America Regional Partnering group, collaborating with peers to share best practices, identify trends and themes across supported groups, and provide regular playback. This collaborative approach ensures alignment and enablement across the broader North America portfolio.
  • Contribute as an onsite regional partner to the local team, providing tailored People solutions aligned with group, local, and regional goals.
  • Deliver hands-on support in People operations, including onboarding, payroll, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Be a consultant to leaders and managers, providing pragmatic guidance across a wide range of people matters and contributing to a culture where everyone can thrive.

Conflict Resolution:

  • Act as a mediator in workplace disputes and facilitate resolution through clear and thoughtful communication.
  • Conduct investigations and lead grievances as needed, with a strong focus on fairness, inclusion, and equity.

Performance Management Support:

  • Support managers through performance-related processes, including reviews and disciplinary actions.

Lead critical employee matters such as restructurings or other organisational changes, ensuring consistency and care.

People Experience:

  • Champion a great people experience across the full lifecycle, with special attention to onboarding and engagement.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen team connections and support a collaborative, inclusive office culture.
  • Develop strong partnerships with teams and stakeholders to identify and deliver enhancements to the workplace experience.
  • Support the activation of Arm’s global wellbeing strategy across North America by collaborating with the Regional Partner team to design, tailor, and roll out impactful wellbeing campaigns. Focus on providing tools, resources, and local initiatives that enable employees to perform at their best while effectively managing their wellbeing.

Training and Development:

  • Deliver and support training sessions for managers and individuals on soft skills and team effectiveness.
  • Coach managers on handling interpersonal challenges and partner with L&D to align local needs with global development offerings.
  • Share local insights and feedback with the L&D team to help shape offerings that reflect the specific needs and interests of the San Jose office community.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to policies and compliance with employment law.
  • Interpret people data to identify themes and opportunities for proactive improvements.
  • Apply expertise in U.S. employment practices to support organizational change, engagement, and compliance.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Proven HR professional with hands-on experience partnering with business leaders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to influence and build relationships across functions and geographies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a structured and thoughtful approach to managing workload in a multi-site environment.
  • Experience supporting technical or engineering teams is highly desirable.
  • Passionate about delivering a great people experience, fostering engagement, and contributing to a people-first culture.
