Job Overview:

Ensuring generational performance gains requires the understanding of not only the core, microarchitecture and system-level details but also what runs on them. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled engineer to help enable and drive analysis, characterization and gain deep understanding of complex Infrastructure workloads. This role requires the individual to work with engineers across the globe ranging from hardware architects to software and toolchain experts. This is a highly versatile and visible role that would help shape the next generation CPU microarchitecture through workload performance analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Performance analysis and characterization of complex Infrastructure workloads to drive improvements at both software and microarchitectural level for next-generation processors/systems.
- Analysing CPU performance, power, cost and understanding technology limitations we need to breakthrough
- Collaborating with the Architects at Arm to develop of key technologies to maintain a best-in-class compute systems roadmap
- Developing knowledge of the competitive landscape and a understanding of technologies needed to for solutions such as Infrastructure, Computer Vision, Machine Learning
Required Skills and Experience :
- You have knowledge and experience of CPU architecture/microarchitecture built through, prior development/research work in CPU/System performance analysis/modeling/design and/or, workload analysis/characterization/software optimization.
- You are able to distil workload performance into software (application, toolchain, libraries) and cpu/system microarchitecture.
- You are able to work efficiently alone as well as part of geographically distributed teams across multiple groups.
- You are driven to innovate, think different, explore new avenues, and influence collaborators through detailed investigations.
- A good university degree in computers, or equivalent – with 10+ years of proven experience in CPU performance /Soc Performance.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- You have developed skills in CPU performance analysis and/or modelling.
- You have worked on workload analysis, characterization, and/or optimizing open-source software.
- You have been working on CPU infrastructure architectures and related system constraints.
- You have worked on advanced CPU techniques, from branch prediction to prefetchers (micro-architecture, design etc.).
- You are used to working on immature technologies and follow up latest advancements in Research.
- You thrive in an open work environment that provides an opportunity to impact products and roadmaps with your ideas/prototypes/empirical analysis.
