During interviews, practice vocalising your thought process and how you’d approach a new problem. And don’t be afraid to involve your interviewer in that thinking or ask questions. What we look for?
We're looking for more than technical ability. At Arm, we value people who are curious, collaborative, and motivated to learn. Whether you're building side projects, contributing to open-source communities, or pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone, we look for candidates who bring initiative, creativity, and a passion for solving problems.

Graduate Programmes
Two-year programmes starting each September, with roles available in both software and hardware engineering. You’ll gain hands-on experience across projects, build your technical expertise, and develop your professional skills through structured training and mentorship.

Internships
Summer and year-long placements available across multiple UK offices, offering opportunities in a range of technical and business areas. Programmes run for 3, 6, or 12 months, giving you practical industry experience and the chance to work alongside experts in your field.

Apprenticeships
Opportunities in areas such as software engineering and data analytics, available in Cambridge, Sheffield, and Manchester. We offer Level 4 to Level 6 apprenticeships, where you can work towards a full degree while gaining 80% on-the-job training and 20% academic study. Recruitment opens in early 2026, with start dates in September 2026.

Can I apply to multiple locations in the UK?  
Yes, you can

Do you sponsor international students for UK-based roles?  
For our Graduate roles, you’ll need to meet the eligibility criteria for your applicable Visa which may vary. For more detailed information or if you’re uncertain about your right to work, please visit the official UK Visas and Immigration website.

What programming languages or tools should I know?

At Arm, engineering graduates use a wide range of tools depending on their role — but the most commonly used programming languages and tools include:
Python – Used across software, ML, tooling, and automation roles
C++ – Key for hardware/software interface, embedded systems, and modelling
Verilog/RTL – Important for hardware design and verification roles
Linux – Essential for systems-level work
Git, CI/CD tools (e.g. YAML, Terraform) – Common in DevOps and infrastructure roles
Machine Learning Frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch) – Important for AI/ML roles

Not every role requires all of these, but familiarity with at least one programming language (like Python or C++) and a collaborative toolset (e.g., Git, CI/CD) gives you a strong start.
