The Role
This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated performance verification engineer to join the hardworking System IP team.
This is a fast-paced technical role employing the latest hardware design and verification methodologies to model and analyse complex and highly configurable hardware IP that sit at the heart of Arm-based Systems.
Job Overview
This role is for the System MMU product team.
The SMMU team owns the development of next-generation Arm SMMU targeting high-end mobile, networking, and enterprise markets. The SMMU is a key component of the Arm Architecture that provides critical and complex functionalities that complement systems design with Arm processors and Multimedia IP.
Responsibilities:
You will specify and develop hardware performance verification tests for future generation hardware IP. You will work with the design and performance modelling teams to create test scenarios for key performance scenarios. You will also analyse and deliver performance statistics within the team and to other teams including marketing and partner enablement.
The responsibilities of a member of the Performance verification team are:
- Creation of test environments and tests to verify the performance requirements of the design
- Ownership of the performance verification environment from investigation to verification closure
- Investigating and scripting new performance verification flows and optimising existing ones
- Analysis and presentation of data from simulation runs using data science techniques
- There will be opportunities for improving our verification methodology and mentoring other members of the team
- Close collaboration with other Arm teams leading to high quality IP that works well in a complete system.
Essential skills and experience
- You can demonstrate experience in using software methodologies to verify hardware designs, including use of hardware models.
- You have experience of using Python or Perl
- You are familiar with SoC system level architectures and their performance requirements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team with a dedicated, focused approach to problem analysis and solving.
- You are able to plan and estimate your own work

- Team leadership and mentoring experience
- Knowledge of Verilog/System Verilog and hardware design
- Data analysis and presentation
- Knowledge of continuous integration tools
- You have experience of using C++
- Proven software engineering skills including understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
