As part of our continued growth, the CPU team are looking to hire talented engineers in the Bristol region. Based in an office in Bristol, you will be working on next generation CPU products in close collaboration with the Cambridge team.

CPU Design Engineers are responsible for innovation and development of modern microprocessors.
For Principal CPU Design Engineer we are seeking a dedicated, versatile individual with strong technical leadership and in-depth understanding across multiple aspects of CPU design. Your role will be to define and build hardware RTL designs for low-power and area efficiency, to write and review documentation, to provide planning, tracking and reporting in order to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of CPU IP.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Hands-on proficiency with System Verilog, Verilog or VHDL HDL for RTL design
- Expertise in synthesizable design that achieve area, frequency and power targets; ability to make judgements on functionality and performance trade-offs
- Track record of writing specifications and documentation describing complex designs
- Capacity to own all stages of a project, from start to completion: concept, specification, implementation and testing, support
- Proven technical and/or team leadership skills
- Practical experience of working on microprocessor designs
Desireable Experience:
- Working knowledge of SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA)
- Mentoring team members
- Knowledge of scripting eg Python, Perl or unix shell scripting
- Knowledge of assembly language (preferably ARM), C/C++ and/or hardware verification languages e.g. SystemVerilog
