Arm's new Solutions Engineering Group's mission is to enable our partners by delivering secure, performant, reliable hardware and software that are easy to use. Solutions Engineering's Design Enablement team develops CAD flows which enables engineering teams to be successful.
We are looking for a technical manager with front end and back end CAD flow development experience and/or with hands-on experience using those flows.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of CAD engineers responsible for the development, testing, deployment and maintenance of the verification and implementation CAD flows.
- Work in a multicultural and diverse environment, and build strong relationship with various teams in multiple design centres !
- The role requires you to work with engineering teams to understand their requirements and project managers to define roadmap.
- You will be developing efficient, scalable & massively parallel system to run EDA workloads on premise and/or Cloud
- You will work with third-party EDA vendors to develop/deploy/support CAD software solutions
- Encouraged to drive experiential learning sessions with wider audiences.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Bachelors/Masters with 8+ years of minimum experience in Physical Design domain.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years running a technical CAD team located across time zones.
- Values communication as a key medium to cultivate learning, builds trust and solves sophisticated problems with dependencies.
- Strong understanding in the RTL2GDSII flow for leading or mainstream process technologies.
- Good understanding of the concepts related to synthesis, place & route, CTS, timing convergence, IR/EM checks and signoff DRC/LVS closure.
- Working experience with tools like DC/Genus, ICC2/Innovus, Primetime/Tempus and others relevant for physical implementation.
- Good automation skills in PERL, TCL and EDA tool specific scripting can be impactful.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple design centers across multiple time zones
- The ability to effectively work alone as well as in a team
- Be motivated to accept a variety of responsibilities as a part of contributing to the team’s success
- Have good interpersonal skills to enable networking both internally and externally to Arm
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Exposure to cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS)
- Exposure to any Object Oriented Programming Language.
