We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our People Services team based in Austin, Texas. People Services are the local face of the People team at Arm and in this role, your responsibilities would include leading and delivering our payroll and benefits needs in North America. We are looking for an expert who is passionate about automation, driving efficiencies and bringing continuous process improvements that scale services inline with the rapid growth of Arm.

What will you be accountable for?

  • Leading the delivery of payroll will include ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely processing of transactions including salaries, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Maintain compliance in line with Sox requirements and lead ongoing improvements and alignment.
  • Implementing process improvements to streamline processes to ensure that our generous reward and benefits are delivered to employees seamlessly.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the global and regional team to deliver a service which is high quality, accurate and with a high degree of customer service.
  • Leading the function to ensure core capabilities are in place and efficient processes are implemented and delivered
  • Completing relevant payroll, 401k and benefits policies and practices, maintaining compliance with legislative and audit requirements.
  • Producing timely and accurate reporting for customers across the business including; Reward and Finance.
  • Responding to payroll and benefit related queries from employees and key partners.
  • Vendor relationship management (ADP)
  • Representing North America payroll within Arm’s global payroll community. Engaging with Global Payroll teams and leading as the SME for North America on global projects.

Job requirements

  • You will be a payroll expert with extensive and current experience of hands-on delivery of working multiple and large payrolls (circa 1500 people) simultaneously. You will also be experienced in delivering 401k and benefit activities.
  • You should be comfortable and experienced using Success Factors software, ADP and MS Excel.
  • A detailed understanding of payroll and 401k statutory knowledge and extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll.
  • Previous experience of leading a team and payroll function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, together with highly developed numerical reasoning.
  • Be passionate about process improvements and driving efficiencies, challenging the status-quo
  • To identify, understand and address needs, you will need to be a superb communicator, who cares deeply about establishing relationships and have a customer-centric approach.
  • You will have excellent administration and organization skills with the ability to progress several tasks simultaneously, prioritize a multi-faced workload and lead systems and processes effectively.
  • Must demonstrate a track record of collaborative working which gets things done effectively and efficiently.
  • Experienced working with an outsourced payroll bureau
